Last weekend I decided (as you do) that I needed a new freezer. I remembered that Campbell had reminded me about lots of discounts that I could obtain via
MyCISI member benefits. So I decided to have a look and see if I could get a decent discount off the freezer I had chosen. Hunting around led me to discover that if I bought a discount card from Xexec (the providers of this service for CISI) I could obtain a 7% discount from Currys – and that was on top of the sale price!
That led me to look further and I discovered something even more interesting. You can buy a 4% discount card (i.e. for £96 outlay, you receive £100 of credit) from Sainsbury’s and use that like a debit card to pay for weekly groceries. So, doing the maths, if I spend £100 each week, over 52 weeks, that amounts to a saving of £208 per year. Not to be sniffed at!
But one even better thing is that my membership, excluding CFP and SPS, is in that region and for those of you running your own business, membership fees are eligible for tax relief. So I could nearly save enough of my personal expenditure to pay for my annual membership. No excuses then? Well, only if you don’t shop at Sainbury’s but there is a discount for Tesco and Waitrose!
